So I was talking to my friend, NYC Photographer, Cyle Suez, the other day at a local coffee shop in the LES. One of the many things we discussed that definitely caught my attention was about James Franco’s newest collaboration with “Porn Director” Travis Mathews… Yes I know I’m a little late seeing how in early October, PAPER MAGAZINE published an exclusive preview and interview with Travis Mathews himself about this collaboration.
The film will be called James Franco’s 40 minutes and it’s based off William Friedkin’s 1980′s controversial film, Cruising, which was about a cop (Al Pacino) that went undercover in NYC’s gay leather bar scene to investigate a series of murders. To my understanding, In order for the film to be rated R and be able to be shown in theaters, Friedkin had to cut out 40 minutes from the film in which would have converted the films rating to one that woud not allow it to be shown in theaters. So together, Travis Mathews & James Franco are putting together what they believed the DELETED 40 minutes consisted of.
I think this is genius! James Franco in another gay film… I mean come on he is ridiculously attractive and has this bad boy edgy vibe that makes him, in my opinion one of my favorite actors. If I could be in a relationship with him or John Mayer, I would die happy.
